Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional. A myth, a legend.
No one could have foreseen the remarkable destiny of this timepiece when OMEGA launched the first chronograph with a tachymeter scale in 1957. Designed for automobile racers and engineers, the watch needed a name that promised speed - the Speedmaster was born.
The fate of this legend took an abrupt turn in 1965, when NASA sought out the watch for manned space missions, specifically the first moon landing and all five subsequent moon landings. The Speedmaster Moonwatch was born and took its place in the watch hall-of-fame for eternity.
Countless small adjustments and changes related to technology and aesthetics have already been made in over 50 years of the Moonwatch, but the DNA has always remained the same and remains unmistakable to this day.

No other timepiece embodies the brand's risk-taking pioneering spirit more than its track horse, the Speedmaster: the chronograph in its most purist form. Equipped with the brand's latest technical achievements and many historic design elements, the watch offers everything any collector could wish for. The caliber 3861 is the improved version of its predecessor 1861 and is an officially certified Master Chronometer, which guarantees a rate accuracy of 0/+5 seconds per day. Also, this movement withstands magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss and is equipped with OMEGA's Co-Axial escapement with a silicon balance spring. The improved power duration of 50 hours offers additional comfort in everyday life. In addition to the central chronograph seconds hand, the watch features a small seconds hand, a 30-minute counter, and a 12-hour counter.
Following the 4th generation Speedmaster models from the late 1960s, OMEGA has added some historically important design elements. Be it the slight step on the dial, the slightly lower subdials or the famous "Dot over 90" on the anodized aluminum bezel. The bracelet, made of five curved links per row, alternately polished and brushed, is also convincing in design, as well as in wearing comfort. The vintage-style clasp completes the whole package.
This version with a sapphire crystal and a sapphire crystal glass back has optimal characteristics as an everyday watch and offers a clear view of the gorgeous movement. Except for the version with hesalite crystal, there is probably no modern Speedmaster that is more similar to the original Moonwatch.
