Leistung und Stil für alle Ihre Wassersport-Aktivitäten. In den 1960er-Jahren kam der neuartige Tauchsport gross in Mode. Für Taucher war Timing alles, und Breitling machte sich daran, eine möglichst schnörkellose Taucheruhr für sie zu entwickeln, bei der auf jede Funktion verzichtet wurde, die nicht auf ihre lebensrettenden Ansprüche unter Wasser abgestimmt war. Diese reduzierte Uhr erhielt den Namen Slow Motion. Was blieb, waren klare Linien, massive Leuchtzeiger, eckige Indizes und ein kontrastreicher Zifferblattring, um maximale Ablesbarkeit zu garantieren. Praktisch war sie in jedem Fall. Aber was die Leute wirklich begeisterte, war ihr Look. Die neue Superocean nimmt die gefeierten Designelemente der Slow Motion wieder auf und ergänzt sie mit modernen Funktionen wie einer Keramikinlay-Lünette und Zifferblättern in leuchtenden Farben. Breite Zeiger und Indizes in lumineszierendem Super-LumiNova® sorgen für eine einfache Ablesbarkeit unter Wasser. Die Uhr ist wasserdicht bis 300 Meter (1000 Fuss), stossfest sowie sand- und salzwasserbeständig. Bei der Version in Bronze kommt eine spezielle Legierung zum Einsatz, die eine exzellente Korrosionsbeständigkeit aufweist, aber mit der Zeit eine dezente Patina entwickelt, durch die die Uhr noch einzigartiger wird. Die beiden Armband-Optionen (Gummi- oder Metallarmband) verfügen über eine Faltschliesse, mit der kleinste Anpassungen bis zu 15 mm möglich sind, so dass die Uhr ganz einfach über Rashguards und Neoprenanzügen getragen werden kann. Die kratzfeste Keramikinlay-Lünette wird niemals abnutzen oder verblassen. Zur Sicherheit ist die Lünette bei den meisten Grössen einseitig drehbar und bei 46 mm beidseitig drehbar mit patentierter Verriegelung. Das Allerbeste: Dies ist nicht länger eine reine Taucheruhr – surfen Sie mit ihr, schwimmen Sie mit ihr, besuchen Sie die Strandbar mit ihr und tragen Sie sie dann zum Dinner. Die Superocean ist die perfekte Balance zwischen nostalgischem Vermächtnis und einem frischen, neuen Look.

My favourite watch is the Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet. It is actually a men’s model, but I think the watch with 40 mm diameter looks breathtakingly beautiful on a woman, too. The classic complete calendar with Blancpain’s signature moon phase looks stunning with its simple elegance. Each function on the complete calendar can be adjusted individually using the practically invisible under-lug correctors.

Founded in 1735, Blancpain is the oldest watch brand in the world. The Villeret models have barely been aesthetically altered since the early days of Blancpain, yet they still look very contemporary. They have become a timeless classic that is a dependable accessory for generations.

I particularly like this ZENITH Defy Midnight 36 mm for the watch’s combination of features and unique selling points. Firstly, it has an extraordinary colour gradient on the dial, which is highly attractive. You can easily pair the watch with different colourful straps yourself if you find the steel bracelet version too traditional. Try a suitably black strap on one side and a grey one on the other. It is sure to look amazing! Secondly, this model boasts excellent technical credentials thanks to the ZENITH Elite manufacture movement. Overall, it is excellent value for money given what the timepiece offers.
