H. Moser & Cie. – a young and innovative brand with centuries-old roots. The Moser story begins with the emigration of Heinrich Moser to Saint Petersburg in the early 19th century. It was not long before he became the go-to specialist among aristocrats and founded H. Moser & Cie. in 1828. Moser built a factory employing several hundred artisans in Switzerland. In addition to basic three-hand watches, the company produced countless ‘grandes complications’. Besides his watchmaking success, Heinrich Moser also played a key role in driving the industrialisation of Schaffhausen, most notably having a hand in the construction of the first Swiss dam with hydromechanical turbines to generate power.
The H. Moser & Cie. Venturer Big Date is all about the date. The 41.5 mm timepiece in 18k red gold, with an argenté sunburst dial, is a very classic timepiece in the Moser watch family line-up. Clean lines and curved shapes are what gives the Venturer its signature design. The concave sapphire crystal skilfully highlights the elegant dial. Like all date models from the manufacture in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, the Big Date features the famous ‘flash calendar’, which has two main advantages: the date instantly changes at midnight and can be changed at any time without risk of damaging the mechanism. The watch also features a double-pull crown mechanism, which makes it much easier to identify the crown position. Powered by the HMC 100 movement with a power reserve of seven days, which was specially developed for the Venturer family, this watch excels on every level.
