This Altiplano with a diameter of 40mm embodies the perfect "dress watch": elegant, subtle, understated and known for its ultra-flat profile. Nevertheless, this watch can be easily combined with different styles. It not only goes perfectly with a suit or tuxedo, but also with jeans and a shirt. The case is 18k white gold and comes on a black alligator leather strap with an 18k white gold pin buckle. The dial is silver plated and features narrow and long hour markers and displays the hour, minute, subsidiary second and date. The movement is one of the thinnest self-winding mechanical movements available and features a micro rotor and has a power reserve of 44 hours.

New complication - new double world record for thinness. For the first time ever, an Altiplano watch integrates a calendar and holds pride of place as the thinnest watch in the world in its category, for both its movement and its case. Embracing the back-to-the-basics philosophy to perfection, its 3.00mm movement, the thinnest in the world, and its 6.36mm case illustrate that technique and sophistication can be comfortably housed in a small space. The 40mm white gold-fashioned case, specifically designed to host the 1205P movement, also incorporates the date and small seconds. The dial, arranged on three levels, and the subtle interplay between single and double hour-markers reiterate the codes cherished by Piaget’s ultra-thin, automatic watches. A timelessly pure luxury watch, poised to become a genuine classic that will stand the test of time.

 

The twelfth movement dedicated to the Altiplano Collection, caliber 1205P is the rightful heir to the 1208P first presented by Piaget in 2010. It ventures even further beyond the boundaries of excellence with its record-breaking 3.00mm thinness. No fewer than 221 meticulously designed and hand-assembled components compete against each other in an incredibly delicate mechanical composition. In keeping with the tradition of off-centered indicators, the date aperture at 9 o’clock merges perfectly with the small seconds set at 5 o’clock. As part of Piaget’s constant effort to stand out from the crowd, the 1205P movement is equipped with a special index assembly which bears the “P” of Piaget like a secret signature. The circular Côtes de Genève, circular-grained bottom plate, bevelled bridges, sunburst wheels and blued screws round off this exceptional movement, evoking the aesthetic codes cherished by the Swiss watchmaking brand.
