Welcome to the world of Chopard
Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded a watch manufacture for precision watches in 1860. He quickly realised that his customers wanted ultra-thin, high-precision timepieces that were still suitable for everyday use.
Since then, Chopard has developed a wealth of traditional craft and trade skills. These enable the Maison to develop innovative and creative styles while constantly striving for excellence, ensuring the highest quality standards.
Why Chopard?
Chopard’s identity has been passed down from one generation to the next since the Maison was founded, and it has developed further over time. Every member of the family has helped shape it. Today, it is this unique family spirit that makes Chopard special in the world of fine watchmaking. Along with its hallmarks of emotion and generosity, this family spirit shapes everything the Maison does. This strong sense of family makes for a very special brand experience.

L'HEURE DU DIAMANT
«L'Heure du Diamant» zeigt die beiden Schwerpunkte des Könnens von Chopard: Die Uhrmacherkunst und das Edelsteinfassen, vereint in einer unvergleichlichen Kollektion. Eine aussergewöhnliche Krappenfassung würdigt den kostbarsten Edelstein der Welt, den Diamanten.
Craftsmanship, independence, daring and creativity
The Maison’s independence has shaped its development strategy since its foundation, an approach made possible by its family shareholding structure. As a result, the company has the highest level of vertical integration in the watchmaking industry. All the pieces sold by Chopard have been manufactured at one of its three production sites, which is unique in the world of watchmaking. This strategy goes hand in hand with a culture of craftsmanship.
Daring and creativity are the source of Chopard’s innovation and originality. They merge when craftsmanship and inspiration come together to create a driving force, underpinning the perseverance and determination shown in the vibrant day-to-day life of the Maison with its winning and adventurous attitude and its culture of daring.
These values shape the Maison’s entrepreneurial side, together with its determination to forge ahead and take on new challenges, which includes industrial ventures such as the establishment of the Chopard Manufacture. The values also permeate the artistic side, which preserves heritage while constantly looking to the future, guided by the tastes, passions and talents of the Scheufele family.
Ethics
For Chopard, true luxury is synonymous with ethics and environmental and social responsibility, at all levels of its operations and with regard to its employees, suppliers, customers and the planet. The Maison adopts an ethical approach to its activities that includes verifying the origin of the raw materials it uses and the production methods. This is only possible because it is completely independent and has a high level of vertical integration.
This is all done as part of the Maison’s various commitments and standards, including its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy and its ‘Journey to Sustainable Luxury’ project, its partnership with the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM), its use of ethical gold, the Green Carpet Collection, the RJC certification for the Maison and its suppliers, and its compliance with the Kimberley Process and the Minergie label, among others.
